The Belmont City College Student Council has kicked off 2026 with energy and enthusiasm. Our dedicated councillors have already taken part in two exciting events this year.

On Tuesday, 10 February, councillors attended a workshop facilitated by Skyfields, where they were invited to contribute ideas toward the development of a proposed town park near Perth Airport. Working collaboratively in groups, students shared thoughtful suggestions focused on creating a space that is welcoming and inclusive for all members of the Belmont community.
The Student Council has shown a strong interest in becoming more involved in local community initiatives, and this opportunity was a fantastic way to begin turning that commitment into action.

Senior School councillors attended the GRIP Student Leadership Conference at the Perth Exhibition and Conference Centre on Thursday, 19 February. The conference brings together students from schools across the state and provides young leaders with a clear understanding of what it means to lead effectively.
Throughout the day, students engaged with a range of topics designed to support them in navigating challenges within the school environment and fostering a positive culture in their school communities. Councillors also selected four elective workshops, with options covering diverse areas such as public speaking and successful event planning.Image attachmentImage attachment+2Image attachment

Wanjoo!

We acknowledge and respect the Noongar Whadjuk people, the traditional custodians of the boodja (land) on which we work and live.
We recognise their continuing connection to the boodja and bilya (rivers), and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
